What is an “Electronic Signature”?

SOUTH AFRICA – “Electronic Signature” means data attached to, incorporated in, or logically associated with other data and which is intended by the user to serve as his/her signature” ECT ACT 25 of 2002

USA – The US Federal ESIGN Act, passed in 2000, defines it as an “electronic sound, symbol (Checkbox), or process” attached to or logically associated with a contract or other record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record”.

EUROPEAN UNION – The European Union (eIDAS Article 3) states that – A “Standard Electronic Signature” (SES) is defined as “data in electronic form which is attached to or logically associated with other data in electronic form and which is used by the signatory to sign”

 

Is using a Checkbox to sign documents, contracts Legal?

YES! “No contract, or record shall be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form”, provided that all parties signing a document agree to use electronic signatures. These principles have been adopted in over 160 countries.

 

What is FastSign?

When we send documents for signature we refer to this process as FastSign.

 

Can your system be used on all documents?

FastSign is ideal for signing documents, except where the law requires that the document be signed by hand or on documents where a where a cryptographic signature (Digital signature) is advisable. 

 

What are the costs?

Our Prices are unbeatable, especially for high volume.  We define high volume as any requirement in excess of           10 000 FastSigns.

YES! We use SSL encryption, to protect all commutation between our website and your Server from prying eyes.
