What is an “Electronic Signature”?

SOUTH AFRICA – “Electronic Signature” means data attached to, incorporated in. or logically associated with other data and which is intended by the user to serve as his/her signature” ECT ACT 25 of 2002

USA – The US Federal ESIGN Act, passed in 2000, defines it as an “electronic sound, symbol (Tick Box), or process” attached to or logically associated with a contract or other record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record”.

EUROPEAN UNION – A “Standard Electronic Signature” (SES) is defined as “data in electronic form which is attached to or logically associated with other data in electronic form and which is used by the signatory to sign” (eIDAS Article 3).

 

Is using a Check Box to sign documents, contracts Legal?

The short answer is YES! “No contract, or record shall be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form”, provided that all parties signing a document agree to use electronic signatures. These principles have been adopted in over 60 countries.

 

What is FastSign?

FastSign is the name we use for our Document Signatures System.

 

Can your system be used on all documents?

FastSign is ideal for signing all documents, except where the law requires that the document be signed by hand or on documents where an “Advanced” (AES) or “Qualified” (QES) signature is required.

YES! We use SSL encryption, to protect all commutation between our website and your Server from prying eyes.

 

How about Corporate Branding?

YES! Corporate Branding is included as a standard feature on all Plans. What payment option you have? We use Paypal as our payment gateway. Customers do not need be to be registered with PayPal to make a payment.
